Kemess Mine Closure and Expansion EIA Water Quality

British Columbia

A water balance and water quality model were developed and calibrated for existing facilities including tailings impoundment, open pit, waste rock dump, ore stockpile, and receiving watercourses.  The models were used as tools for assessing the effectiveness of various mine closure options for waste and water management.

A water balance and water quality model were developed for the proposed expansion of the Kemess Mine.  The models accounted for all proposed infrastructure including the tailings impoundment, open pit, tunnel, ore stockpiles, and waste rock dumps.
